The Board of Directors of the Aragon Radio and Television Corporation (CARTV) proposed journalist Raquel Fuertes Rodrigo as the new director general of the regional broadcaster on Thursday. Historian Domingo Buesa died on Wednesday at the age of 73. The Huesca native had a brief but intense political career, serving as director general of Culture and Heritage for the Government of Aragon from 1996 to 1999 under Santiago Lanzuela. In 2007, he also ran for mayor of Zaragoza for the People's Party.
The Aragon Government approved the spending ceiling on Monday, a preliminary step toward the 2027 budget. The maximum non-financial spending limit for 2027 is €8.3981 billion, the highest in the autonomous region's history.

Ceuta took center stage during Thursday’s plenary session in the Aragon Parliament, where PP and Vox passed two non-legislative proposals with their votes and opposition from all other parties. The Popular Party initiative calls for “permanently strengthening the protection and surveillance of the Spanish border in Ceuta,” while Vox’s proposal seeks to “solemnly reaffirm Spain’s full and indisputable sovereignty over Ceuta and Melilla, rejecting any claim by the Kingdom of Morocco.”
The Housing Law has opened the political year in the Aragon Parliament. Development Minister Octavio López presented his bill to lawmakers during the first plenary session. It seeks to expand the supply and public stock of affordable housing, mobilize public land, strengthen aid for development and access, and cap public-housing rents at 30% of income.
