The plan includes daily information on candidates’ activities, interviews with lead candidates and specific segments covering the main campaign events. It establishes coverage based on the principles of political and social pluralism, equality and journalistic neutrality, with airtime allocation and the order of appearance determined by the results of the last equivalent elections, held on July 23, 2023, as well as electoral legislation and decisions issued by the Central Electoral Board.
Under these criteria, the PP, PSOE, Vox, CHA-Frente Amplio Aragón, Teruel Existe and Podemos will receive specific news coverage, taking into account the scope of their candidacies and the electoral particularities of each constituency.
THREE ELECTION DEBATES, ONE FOR EACH PROVINCE
One of the main features of the programming will be three election debates with the lead candidates for the Congress of Deputies from the provinces of Teruel, Huesca and Zaragoza. Aragón TV will broadcast the Teruel debate on Tuesday, November 17, the Huesca debate on Thursday, November 19, and the Zaragoza debate on Wednesday, November 25. All three will begin at 10:50 p.m. and last 60 minutes.
The meetings will be jointly organized by the news services of Aragón TV and Aragón Radio and moderated by professionals from the regional television broadcaster. They will also be broadcast simultaneously on both platforms, with corresponding regional opt-outs on the radio.
National debates organized by institutions or media outlets between two or more candidacies may also be broadcast on Aragón TV and Aragón Radio, provided that the Electoral Panel has reached a prior agreement.
INTERVIEWS WITH LEAD CANDIDATES
Aragon’s public media will also offer special interviews with candidates for Congress from the three constituencies. The series will begin on Friday, November 13, with the lead candidates from Teruel, and continue through November 27, following a schedule that will also include the candidacies from Huesca and Zaragoza.
The interviews will air Monday through Friday from 10 a.m., during the final segment of the 'Buenos Días Aragón' program. Aragón TV and Aragón Radio will offer them simultaneously, although the regional broadcaster will make provincial opt-outs.
Their duration will range from eight to 20 minutes, depending on the results obtained by each party in the previous equivalent elections. The content will also be available on Aragón Play from 1 p.m. on the same day of broadcast.
DAILY ELECTION INFORMATION SEGMENTS
During the campaign, the news services of Aragón TV and Aragón Radio will include specific segments covering the candidates’ activities, their proposals and the main campaign events.
On television, this information will appear in both editions of 'Aragón Noticias' and in the adapted nighttime repeat of the second edition. These segments will last a maximum of five minutes, with airtime allocated according to each candidacy’s representation and territorial scope.
Aragón Radio will also include election segments in 'Buenos Días Aragón' and 'Aragón Noticias 14h', as well as in its weekend news programs. The station will use provincial opt-outs to adapt the content to the particularities of Zaragoza, Huesca and Teruel.
CAMPAIGN AND ELECTION NIGHT SPECIALS
Special programming will begin on Thursday, November 12, coinciding with the start of the campaign. Aragón TV will broadcast its special at 11:55 p.m., while Aragón Radio will begin its program at 11:30 p.m., with information on the first events held by the different political parties.
On Friday, November 27, the final day of the campaign, both media outlets will offer special closing programs. The television program will begin at 11:45 p.m. and the radio program at 11:50 p.m., covering the candidates’ final messages ahead of election day.
The coverage will culminate on Sunday, November 29, with special election-night programming beginning at 7:30 p.m. on both Aragón TV and Aragón Radio. From 8 p.m., both outlets will provide the results of the election poll commissioned by RTVE, which the regional television broadcaster will access through FORTA, as well as follow the count and the results.
Aragón TV will feature dedicated segments to present and analyze the data, along with live connections to polling stations, counting centers and political party headquarters. Aragón Radio will deploy a network of connections across the three Aragonese provinces and Madrid, accompanied by experts who will analyze the results throughout the night. Finally, Aragón Play will complete the coverage with the main election content available on demand, allowing users to access it from different devices at any time.
