The Congress ticket will be led by Tomás Guitarte, accompanied by Beatriz Redón and Joaquín Moreno. For the Senate, the party has put forward Raúl Blasco, Beatriz Martín and Daniel Sancho. The team brings together profiles from different fields and communities across Teruel province and, according to the party, represents the citizen movement’s campaigning spirit and its commitment to the rights and opportunities of the province’s residents.
The objective is to return to the Spanish Parliament in order to place Teruel’s needs at the center of political decision-making, demand that outstanding commitments be honored and revive the calls that were sidelined after Teruel Existe left Congress and the Senate in 2023.
GUITARTE CALLS FOR A VOICE OF ITS OWN FOR TERUEL
Congress candidate Tomás Guitarte has argued that Teruel Existe’s parliamentary experience between 2019 and 2023 demonstrates the importance of having representatives directly connected to the province. “We believe it is absolutely essential for Teruel to have a voice of its own that defends its interests, beyond the traditional parties and obedience to the leadership in Madrid,” he said.
Guitarte said the party is approaching this new election with enthusiasm and insisted that Teruel needs to turn its limited parliamentary weight into representation capable of influencing state decisions. “We are very excited to be back there. We know that the only path left for the province is to have a political presence and its own representation,” he said.
The candidate also called for commitments made to Teruel to be reinstated and for pending investments and measures to be implemented. “Indeed, we want, in part, to settle accounts again with a government that has failed to fulfill its commitments and with a state as a whole that ignores territories such as Teruel,” he said.
Among the demands that Teruel Existe wants to take back to Madrid are the Cantabrian-Mediterranean rail corridor, operating aid for businesses, and improvements to road infrastructure and telecommunications. Guitarte said he would demand that the outstanding motorways be completed: “We are going to demand the real implementation of the A-68, A-40 and A-25.”
The party also lists the defense of high-quality public services among its priorities, particularly healthcare, education and support for dependent people, as well as seeking solutions to the housing problem in rural towns. Mobility, the expansion of broadband and improved telecommunications coverage in rural areas round out the candidacy’s main demands.
