The Aragon parliament censured Justice Minister Félix Bolaños on Monday over his decision to grant the region seven new judicial posts instead of the 11 originally planned. The initiative, promoted by the PP and defended by its deputy spokeswoman, Elena Allué, was debated by the Institutional Affairs Committee.
Aragon is not currently receiving migrant minors from Ceuta. Aragon’s vice president, Alejandro Nolasco, said Monday that the region will “refuse” to take in any minors “through legal channels.”
Aragon will apply so-called national priority to aid for families with multiple births and adoptions for the first time. The Aragon Government will publish the 2026 call in the BOA on Tuesday, allocating 491,000 euros and requiring beneficiaries to have effectively lived in the region for at least five years before applying. The announcement was made by Vice President and Minister for Deregulation, Social Welfare and Family Alejandro Nolasco.
The PSOE has demanded that Jorge Azcón’s government manage forests “in close coordination with professionals and the local territory” after more than 35,000 hectares burned in Aragón this summer. The party will seek “improvements” to a firefighting operation that, it says, lacked personnel and was marked by labor disputes and protests in many municipalities affected by the fires.

Aragon’s parliament has approved a non-legislative proposal from the People’s Party calling on the Spanish government to take urgent measures to reduce the impact of rising electricity prices on households and families, including restoring VAT and electricity tax reductions.
The Board of Directors of the Aragon Radio and Television Corporation (CARTV) proposed journalist Raquel Fuertes Rodrigo as the new director general of the regional broadcaster on Thursday. The proposal was approved by a two-thirds majority of the board and has been sent to the Presidency of the Aragon Parliament to begin the parliamentary process established by law. Fuertes currently holds the position on an acting basis after being appointed for the first time in November 2023.

Jorge Azcón criticized the Socialists for considering billion-euro technology investments “curses” when “only recently they thought they were blessings.” In his view, this change in position is because the People’s Party is in government.
Historian Domingo Buesa died on Wednesday at the age of 73. The Huesca native had a brief but intense political career, serving as director general of Culture and Heritage for the Government of Aragon from 1996 to 1999 under Santiago Lanzuela. In 2007, he also ran for mayor of Zaragoza for the People's Party.
The Aragon Government approved the spending ceiling on Monday, a preliminary step toward the 2027 budget. The maximum non-financial spending limit for 2027 is €8.3981 billion, the highest in the autonomous region's history.

Ceuta took center stage during Thursday’s plenary session in the Aragon Parliament, where PP and Vox passed two non-legislative proposals with their votes and opposition from all other parties. The Popular Party initiative calls for “permanently strengthening the protection and surveillance of the Spanish border in Ceuta,” while Vox’s proposal seeks to “solemnly reaffirm Spain’s full and indisputable sovereignty over Ceuta and Melilla, rejecting any claim by the Kingdom of Morocco.”
The Housing Law has opened the political year in the Aragon Parliament. Development Minister Octavio López presented his bill to lawmakers during the first plenary session. It seeks to expand the supply and public stock of affordable housing, mobilize public land, strengthen aid for development and access, and cap public-housing rents at 30% of income.
