The Zaragoza Cinema That Helped Set Spain’s Record for the Longest Movie Marathon

Cinesa has set a new milestone in the history of cinema exhibition. Six of its cinemas broke the record for the longest simultaneous movie marathon ever held in Spain, screening 17 hours of horror films in an event that brought together more than 1,000 people on the same day. One of the six cinemas is in Zaragoza.

Cinesa Puerto Venecia joined Cinesa Príncipe Pío (Madrid), Cinesa Diagonal (Barcelona), Cinesa LUXE Bonaire (Valencia), Cinesa Max Ocio (Bilbao) and Cinesa Mallorca Fashion Outlet (Marratxí, Mallorca) to screen some of the most popular horror films in cinema history over several hours.

No movie marathon had ever been held in so many cities on the same day, with a lineup of classic and modern genre titles including "A Nightmare on Elm Street," "IT," "The Conjuring," "The Shining," "Malignant," "Malasaña 32" and "Weapons," putting the courage of those in attendance to the test.

The event was the first major "drop" from Cinesa Room, a new creative platform through which Cinesa is taking on the role of a cultural programmer, focused on designing and producing initiatives that expand the cinema experience beyond the film itself, while also strengthening the appeal of going to the movies among younger audiences (Gen Z and Alpha).
