Aljafería to open free this Sunday (and two more days this month): when to visit and opening hours

It is one of Zaragoza’s great heritage treasures, one of the most important Islamic palaces preserved in Spain and a building that encapsulates centuries of the city’s history. The Aljafería was the residence of the Hudid kings, later became a palace for the monarchs of Aragon and is now also home to the Cortes of Aragon. During November, there will be three specific days when it can be visited free of charge.
Aljafería to open free this Sunday (and two more days this month): when to visit and opening hours

Admission will be free this Sunday, November 1, Monday, November 2, and Sunday, November 15, as the monument offers free entry on the first and third Sunday of each month, as well as on the first Monday.

The visit allows guests to explore some of the complex’s most iconic spaces, including the Santa Isabel Courtyard, the halls of the Islamic palace, the Golden Hall and the rooms associated with Ferdinand and Isabella, as well as discover the various transformations the building has undergone over the centuries. Visitors can also see the exhibition "Goya, del museo al palacio" to learn more about the artist from Fuendetodos.

OPENING HOURS AND FREE ADMISSION

The Aljafería’s regular opening hours are from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. However, from November 1 through March 31, the monument closes at 2:00 p.m. on Sundays. Beyond these dates, certain groups can enter free of charge year-round. These include children under 12, holders of a large-family or single-parent family card, jobseekers and people with a disability of 33% or more. One companion may also enter free of charge when required for the visit.

In all other cases, admission to La Aljafería costs 7 euros for general admission and 9 euros for a guided tour. The price is 2 euros for people over 65, students, youth card holders and international educational institutions.
