The protest follows the demands voiced at the neighborhood meeting held on October 1 in Ángel Liso Square. At that meeting, residents expressed their indignation at the delay to work they consider urgent, while agreeing to continue mobilizing until the problems identified are resolved. The association warns that the situation is affecting the sanitary conditions of homes and is calling for a response that goes beyond outstanding commitments.
THEY CALL FOR FUNDING IN 2027
In addition to street demonstrations, the association has launched new initiatives through institutional channels. Through the municipal groups, questions have been submitted for consideration by the Urban Planning Commission in order to determine the project's actual status, the expected timelines and the measures Zaragoza City Council plans to take to address the problems reported.
Another key demand is for Zaragoza's 2027 municipal budget to include a specific allocation for the necessary work on Loarre Street. Residents consider it essential to have sufficient funding and clear planning to prevent the intervention from being postponed again.
"The neighborhood will not resign itself to continuing to live with a sanitation problem in its homes and keep waiting for a renovation that seems never to arrive," the neighborhood association says, insisting that it will continue mobilizing and using every available avenue until it achieves "real solutions."
