Music provided the thread linking a journey through films such as Breakfast at Tiffany's, Cinema Paradiso, Casablanca, Volver, Evita, Interstellar, The Godfather, La La Land, The Mission and The Wizard of Oz. "Vuelo," a work connected to the Fuentes Film Festival itself, was also performed.
The show brought together artists including actress Luisa Gavasa; singers Nacho del Río, Sara Comín and Silvia Soláns; pianist Juan Miguel Mazón; oboist Daniel Bondía; and violinist Yekaterina Fesyk. María Cecilio, Germán Molinero and the Dorondón Vocal Group from Pina de Ebro also took part.
A CHURCH TURNED INTO A VENUE TO CELEBRATE THREE DECADES OF CINEMA
The staging also made use of different areas of the church to enhance the experience. The choir was positioned among the pews, while Silvia Soláns began performing "Blue Velvet" from the crypt beneath the altar, making San Miguel's architecture part of the show itself.
The event, presented by journalist Camino Ivars, also served as the setting for the presentation of the festival's Identity Awards. This year's honors went to the Zaragoza Provincial Council and the Government of Aragon, while María Pilar Palacín and Fuentes de Ebro Town Council received a special mention.
The concert ended with "Somewhere Over the Rainbow," performed by the Dorondón Vocal Group, bringing to a close a celebration that combined film, music and culture. The Fuentes Film Festival was founded in 1996 and thus reaches three decades of history with one of the central events in its commemorative program.
