A large, illuminated red bow is already shining on the City Hall façade, visible from anywhere in Pilar Square. It will be one of the defining features of the Aragonese capital’s Christmas decorations for the upcoming holiday season.
Although the official lighting ceremony is still weeks away and is scheduled for November 20, preparations have already begun both in the heart of the city and in Aragón Square. Different parts of the Aragonese capital will gradually be decorated so they look as festive as possible for families to enjoy.
LIGHTING RENOVATIONS
For several years, this bow has adorned City Hall with its 68,750 lights—more specifically, since 2024—and complements Pilar Square with its distinctive red color.
In addition, the City Council will introduce several new features in prominent locations across Zaragoza this Christmas. These include renovating the illuminated canopy on Alfonso Street, as well as adding ornamental lighting in Spain Square. Plans also call for a new corridor of light linking San Miguel Square with Santiago Church, thus expanding the decorative routes through the city center.
