One passenger told ARAGÓN DIGITAL that Renfe offered them the option of taking the train to Atocha, but could not confirm whether there were buses or an alternative service to reach Córdoba. She therefore decided to cancel her ticket and take a flight from Vitoria to Seville on Friday.
Aragón has two daily AVE trains in each direction connecting it with Andalusia, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. The morning Zaragoza-Seville-Málaga service ran only as far as Madrid, where it will turn around to return. Meanwhile, the Granada-Seville-Zaragoza service was unable to run along the Andalusian section.
Renfe has said that the two afternoon AVE services are expected to experience similar disruptions. Passengers with combined journeys from Zaragoza to Madrid and from Madrid to Andalusia are being informed that their trains will run only as far as the Spanish capital, and are being offered free cancellations and ticket changes.
