Arcosur protest: residents call for more buses and an extension of Line 41

Arcosur residents will take to the streets again to demand a solution to the mobility problems they say affect the neighborhood. The Arqueros Residents’ Association has called a demonstration for Sunday, November 22, at 11:00 a.m., starting from El Potrero under the slogan "Arcosur Moves. For достойная mobility in Arcosur". The protest aims to highlight public transport difficulties that, according to the association, affect the district’s nearly 12,000 residents.

The association says it has been submitting proposals to Zaragoza City Council and the District Board for more than a year, both through the electronic registry and in meetings with municipal officials. Its requests include creating circular routes connecting the neighborhood with the city center, new routes to Delicias and the Intermodal Station, and strengthening Line 59 with more buses and shorter waiting times on weekdays, weekends and public holidays.

However, the residents’ association says that, despite contacts with Mobility Councillor Tatiana Gaudes, it has still not received a response from the department or solutions it considers sufficient to improve the neighborhood’s connections. According to the association, those meetings addressed the possibility of introducing high-demand routes under the new urban bus contract, but it says it has received no further updates.

EXTENSION OF BUS LINE 41 TO ARCOSUR

One of the demands the association wants to raise is extending Line 41 to Arcosur. Residents believe the extension would improve direct connections with central Zaragoza and some of the city’s main shopping areas.

The demonstration is open to all residents, neighborhood groups and associations that share these demands. Arqueros insists that the protest aims to defend the district’s needs and call for improvements for its residents, beyond political considerations. "This is not about party initials or colors. It is about defending our neighborhood, its needs and the future of those of us who live here," they said.
