Biendicho explained that on Wednesday “a magnificent negotiating effort was made,” as talks ran from 9 a.m. until 1:30 a.m., “when the agreement was finalized.” He highlighted that the deal is in line with what his department has defended: better working conditions and improved operations for the Infoar firefighting service.
As Biendicho recalled, the commitments include a 10% increase in base pay and the relevant allowance, the payment of an extraordinary €500 bonus to operational staff in recognition of the effort made, and the hiring of all personnel on a full-time basis.
Both sides have agreed to add between 60 and 215 personnel, which will already be included in the 2027 budgets. In this regard, Luis Biendicho emphasized that under the agreement “we will have even greater firefighting capacity and, above all, we will strengthen our prevention capabilities.”
