It is a videomapping projection shown inside the church of the New Monastery, allowing visitors to explore the history of San Juan de la Peña and learn about its connection to the origins of the Kingdom of Aragon. The new video mapping has been added to the visitor offering as a way of bringing the history of the monumental complex closer to the public.
Since October 31, visitors have once again been able to tour the Old Monastery, with its usual guided visits, as well as the New Monastery and its Interpretation Centre. The Hospedería's café and dining services have also resumed, although the accommodation remains seasonally closed for overnight stays during the winter months.
RECOVERY AFTER THE FIRE
Aragon's Minister for the Environment and Tourism, Luis Biendicho, attended the presentation of this new experience. "San Juan de la Peña has stood firm and is one of the great symbols of Aragon's history and identity," he said.
Biendicho highlighted the unique character of San Juan de la Peña, where natural heritage, history, religious tradition and the origins of the Kingdom of Aragon converge. It is a place that forms an essential part of the historical and cultural heritage of the people of Aragon.
Finally, he invited people from Aragon and visitors to the region to return to San Juan de la Peña. "San Juan de la Peña is open again, welcoming visitors once more, and we want it to become a meeting place for all the people of Aragon again," he concluded.
