Aragon students to have four days off before Christmas: how the Constitution holiday weekend falls

December is just around the corner, bringing the first opportunities to enjoy a few days off before Christmas. Aragon's 2026-2027 school calendar gives students in Zaragoza, Huesca and Teruel one of the year's most anticipated holiday weekends, with four consecutive days away from the classroom.
Aragon students to have four days off before Christmas: how the Constitution holiday weekend falls

The Constitution Day and Immaculate Conception holiday weekend will allow families to take a short break from their school routine, plan a getaway or begin enjoying the Christmas atmosphere. In addition, this break will come barely two weeks before the Christmas holidays, meaning students will face the final stretch of the term with several public holidays on the horizon.

WHICH DAYS WILL THERE BE NO SCHOOL DURING THE 2026 CONSTITUTION HOLIDAY WEEKEND?

This year, the calendar works in Aragonese schoolchildren's favor. Constitution Day, December 6, falls on a Sunday, so the holiday will be observed on Monday, December 7. This will be followed by Tuesday, December 8, the Immaculate Conception holiday, which will also be a public holiday.

As a result, students in Aragon will be able to link both days with the preceding weekend and enjoy four consecutive days without school, from Saturday, December 5, through Tuesday, December 8, 2026, inclusive.

It will therefore be a longer weekend than usual, allowing students to disconnect from classes and make the most of the first days of December. They will return to the classroom on Wednesday, December 9, when regular teaching activities resume at schools across the region.

WHEN DO THE CHRISTMAS HOLIDAYS BEGIN IN ARAGON?

After the December holiday weekend, Aragonese students will not have to wait long to enjoy another break, this time a much longer one. The Christmas holidays will arrive barely two weeks later, bringing the first term of the 2026-2027 school year to an end.

According to Aragon's school calendar, the holidays will begin after teaching activities end on the morning of Tuesday, December 22, 2026, and will continue through Wednesday, January 6, 2027, inclusive.

Students will therefore be able to enjoy the Christmas celebrations, New Year's Eve and Three Kings' Day before returning to school on Thursday, January 7, 2027.

Between the Constitution holiday weekend and the Christmas holidays, December is shaping up to be one of the months with the most days off for Aragonese students, with two breaks occurring very close together before the new year begins.
