€15 million in aid to strengthen excellence in VET: Aragon has six centers
Six Aragonese vocational education and training centers will be able to benefit from the Spanish government’s new call for funding for the State Network of VET Centers of Excellence, endowed with €15 million for 2026 and 2027. In Aragon, the network includes CPIFP Bajo Aragón, CI para la FP de Aragón, CPIFP Corona de Aragón, CPIFP Los Enlaces, CPIFP Montearagón and CPIFP Pirámide.
The government gave the call the green light on Tuesday. It is mainly intended to fund teacher training initiatives and joint innovation projects. The aim is to ensure the continuation of the innovation, applied research and knowledge transfer initiatives developed by these centers for the benefit of the education system and the productive sector.
TRAINING AND INNOVATION IN VET
The funding will support projects included in the action plans of the network’s centers. These include teacher induction and training activities, as well as innovation and applied research projects developed with centers from at least three autonomous communities.
The call also covers the identification of new professional profile needs in different sectors and subsectors, along with the possibility of reviewing the curricula of training programs offered at these centers to better adapt them to changes in the labor market.
The State Network of VET Centers of Excellence currently comprises 75 vocational education and training centers distributed throughout Spain and specializing in 18 strategic sectors and subsectors of the Spanish economy. According to the ministry, the network has become a tool for modernizing training programs and aligning them with the needs of productive sectors.
Public authorities responsible for vocational education and training may apply for this funding and will be tasked with channeling it to the network’s member centers.
