Referee with Segunda División experience: Ruipérez Marín to officiate Real Zaragoza-Huesca

Experienced and with a background in professional football, referee Rubén Ruipérez Marín will officiate this Saturday’s clash between Real Zaragoza and S.D. Huesca at the Ibercaja Estadio (9:00 p.m.). It will be the fourth Primera RFEF match he has overseen this season, adding to the record of a veteran of Spain’s third tier.

After officiating in the now-defunct Segunda División B, Ruipérez Marín moved to Primera RFEF following the redistribution of divisions carried out by the Royal Spanish Football Federation during the 2021-2022 season. Since then, the referee from Albacete has overseen a total of 63 matches and is currently the 18th referee with the most games officiated in Spain’s third tier.

This season, the referee who will oversee the clash between the teams from Aragón and Huesca has officiated three matches. In Group 1, he took charge of Racing de Ferrol’s 3-2 win over Real Unión and Unionistas de Salamanca’s 2-0 victory against Cultural Leonesa. In the group featuring Real Zaragoza and Huesca, he officiated the other Aragonese side in the division, Teruel, in their 1-1 draw against Águilas on the ninth matchday.

ONE YEAR IN SEGUNDA DIVISIÓN

However, what stands out most about Ruipérez Marín is his experience in professional football. The referee from Albacete spent the 2015-2016 season in Segunda División, where he officiated 21 matches. Although he never took charge of a Real Zaragoza game, he refereed Huesca on four occasions, with a record of one win, one draw and two defeats for the Huesca side.
