The possibility of postponing the round and playing it at another time was an explicit request from the Spanish Footballers' Association (AFE). It came following the death of Jesús de Miguel, a Tenerife footballer who suffered a brutal tackle during the match against Andorra and lost his life. The request also affected the Real Zaragoza–S.D. Huesca fixture.
The AFE forwarded its request to the relevant bodies, but as of Thursday, no postponement had been announced. Real Zaragoza is therefore continuing to prepare for the fixture. They are not the only ones: among others, Sevilla and Alavés in the top flight are also preparing to face each other this Friday at 9:00 p.m. Everyone expects to play.
THE MATCH REMAINS ON
Real Zaragoza therefore assumes that the match will go ahead and will not be delayed. If nothing changes, S.D. Huesca will visit Ibercaja Estadio this Saturday at 9:00 p.m.
There is barely one more training session scheduled before the ball starts rolling. It will take place this Friday at 5:30 p.m., a few minutes after Real Zaragoza coach Ibai Gómez speaks to the media ahead of the match. Everything, therefore, appears to be in place for the fixture to be played.
Real Zaragoza heads into Saturday's 9:00 p.m. fixture aware that a crucial match awaits. The temporary leadership of Group II of Primera RFEF, Spain's third tier, is at stake. The team in white and blue needs a victory.
