Jorge Palos steps down as Wanapix Sala 10 coach "to rest and regain his energy and enthusiasm"

Jorge Palos is stepping aside. The Zaragoza coach is leaving the Wanapix Sala 10 bench after deciding to end his spell as head coach of an Aragonese club that sits bottom of the Primera División on its return to Spain's top futsal division and lost 6-4 to direct rivals Magna Xota in the latest round.

In an emotional farewell video, the Zaragoza coach explains that he needs to stop after months of strain and devote time to himself and his family. "My body had been screaming at me for months to stop," Palos acknowledges. At 30, the coach says he has lost two elements he considers essential to continue: "Enthusiasm and energy."

In his farewell, Palos highlights the privilege of having been able to pursue his passion professionally at the club of his life, with the confidence of the board, coaching staff and players. It was an experience lived at home, where, as he explains, both the joys and the pain are felt with particular intensity.

The coach expresses his gratitude to the fans for their affection and to all the players and members of the coaching staff who have accompanied him over the years. He also addresses the current squad, conveying the pain his departure causes him and his confidence in the group's ability to achieve its objectives.

THE CLUB'S MESSAGE

"The club thanks Jorge for his work, commitment and dedication throughout all these years. We wish him all the best in this new chapter and remind him that this will always be his home," the Zaragoza club said in its statement announcing the departure of the coach who had led the team in recent seasons.

Last season, after an agonizing playoff, Palos managed to return the first team to Spain's Primera División futsal league, although they have not made a good start. The Zaragoza side, who visit Córdoba in their next match, have yet to taste victory in this new campaign and have secured only one draw against Santa Coloma. That form leaves Wanapix bottom of the table, in a situation that must be reversed immediately.
