The incident occurred last Friday afternoon, when the man, who has since been arrested, went to the family home and began threatening his relatives while displaying both objects. Fearing that he might get inside, the occupants locked themselves in the house to protect themselves and prevent him from entering.
HE TRIED TO ENTER THROUGH THE COMMUNAL AREAS
Unable to get in through the door, the man allegedly sought other ways to enter through the building’s communal areas. According to the National Police, the situation caused considerable anxiety and fear among the family members, who remained inside the home until officers arrived.
When the police arrived at the scene, they found the man in a highly agitated state and behaving violently. The officers had to restrain him to ensure the safety of those present and, once he was under control, arrested him and seized both the knife and the spear he was carrying.
The National Police said the suspect has 33 previous arrests and has been involved in numerous police interventions. In several of them, according to police headquarters, he had also been found carrying potentially dangerous objects, a circumstance that increased the risk of this type of incident.
After completing the proceedings, the detainee was brought before the courts. After hearing him in court, the judge ordered that he be remanded in custody in connection with the events.
