Human remains were found on a beach at the reservoir located in the municipality of Sigüés (Zaragoza). Investigators later identified the victim as a French citizen living in Pamplona, whose disappearance had been reported days after the discovery.
THE MISSING PERSON REPORT ACCELERATED THE INVESTIGATION
The Zaragoza Organic Judicial Police Unit opened the investigation on August 4. Days later, the Foral Police received a report concerning a missing man and began working in coordination with Navarra's Organic Judicial Police Unit to determine whether he could be the person whose remains had been found in Yesa.
The investigation established a match between the missing man and the body found in the reservoir. From that point on, investigators focused their efforts on determining what had happened and identifying who may have been responsible for his death.
One of the investigation's main developments came on August 8, when officers searched the victim's home in Pamplona's La Milagrosa neighborhood. According to the Civil Guard, the deceased shared the property with another man.
THE INVESTIGATION REMAINS UNDER SEAL
The arrest took place on the morning of September 8, just over a month after the remains were found. The Civil Guard has identified the detainee as the main suspect linked to the alleged murder, although it has provided no further details about his identity or the specific circumstances of the crime.
The case is being handled by Court of First Instance and Investigation No. 1 of Ejea de los Caballeros, which has placed the proceedings under seal. The investigation remains open to fully clarify what happened.
