The accident occurred at around 1:00 a.m. this Thursday at the intersection of Juan XXIII and San Jorge streets. For reasons that have not been determined, the van collided with a traffic light and, after the impact, the driver continued driving and went around the block in an attempt to flee the scene, according to police information.
However, the escape ended shortly afterward. National Police officers, who were the first to arrive in the area, intercepted the van during the maneuver and subsequently assisted Huesca Local Police patrols.
The driver was unharmed and underwent the relevant breathalyzer tests, recording 0.77 mg/l in the first measurement and 0.69 mg/l in the second. In light of these results, officers arrested him as the alleged perpetrator of an offense against road safety.
After the proceedings were completed, the man was released on bail, while the van involved in the accident was removed and taken to the municipal impound lot.
