The investigation began last July and, recently, officers from several specialist units of the Civil Guard’s Zaragoza Command searched a home in Borja after learning that it could be operating as a drug-selling point.
MORE THAN 30 KILOS OF DRUGS AND €88,605 IN CASH
The search confirmed that the property was being used as a major storage, processing and distribution center for narcotics. According to the Civil Guard, it was one of the most active points detected in the Campo de Borja area.
Officers seized just over 30 kilos of various substances inside the home. Specifically, they found 16,200 grams of hashish, 7,482 grams of speed, 3,538 grams of methamphetamine in the form of pink pills, 1,284 grams of marijuana, 710 grams of cocaine, 1,313 grams of ketamine, 188 grams of crystal meth and 44 grams of MDMA.
The officers also found numerous items intended for the preparation and distribution of the drugs, including packaging machines, pressing machines and vacuum-sealing equipment. They also seized €88,605 in cash.
FIVE WEAPONS AND 410 ROUNDS OF AMMUNITION
The operation also led to the discovery of five modified firearms prepared for use. They included two handguns, one of them fitted with a magazine and silencer, a shotgun, a revolver and an air rifle. The officers also found a Taser-style electric stun weapon. A significant quantity of live ammunition was found alongside the weapons, totaling 410 rounds for different types of firearms.
As a result, the Civil Guard arrested the property’s owner, a 23-year-old Spanish national from Borja, on suspicion of drug trafficking and illegal weapons possession. After being brought before a judge, he was remanded to Zuera prison.
