Firefighters received the alert at around 4:10 p.m. on September 9 and sent a fire engine and a water tanker to the scene to tackle the blaze.
Firefighters from the Zaragoza Provincial Council (DPZ) were also deployed as the fire developed, although they ultimately did not have to intervene because the blaze was already under control when they were heading to the area.
At around 5:00 p.m., the fire was declared extinguished and firefighters began dismantling the operation. However, a small hotspot remains in the median, so the Civil Guard has stayed at the scene to complete monitoring duties.
