The accident occurred at around 11:40 a.m. at kilometer 1.500 of the aforementioned road, in the downhill direction, according to the Civil Guard.
The cyclist, a resident of the Somontano region, was treated at the scene by medical staff from an advanced life-support ambulance operated by the 061 emergency service. He was later evacuated by a medical helicopter from the 112 emergency service and taken to Miguel Servet Hospital in Zaragoza.
A patrol from the Barbastro Traffic Detachment of the Civil Guard, the Road Accident Investigation Team (EIS) from the Huesca Traffic Subsector of the Civil Guard, the Barbastro Local Police, two 061 advanced life-support ambulances, Barbastro Civil Protection personnel and the 112 medical helicopter were dispatched to the scene.
The Road Accident Investigation Team from the Huesca Traffic Subsector of the Civil Guard, based in Fraga, has taken charge of the investigation to determine the cause of the accident.
