Huesca Provincial Council has begun a comprehensive upgrade of the roads leading to Morilla and Monesma, two settlements located between the municipalities of Ilche and Monzón. The project covers a total of 9.3 kilometers of the HU-V-8742 and HU-V-8741 roads and represents an investment of more than €600,000.

Work is already under way, and the provincial institution expects it to be completed in approximately two weeks. The president of Huesca Provincial Council, Isaac Claver, and the council’s roads delegate, Álvaro Bescós, have visited the site to review its progress.

NEW ROAD SURFACE AND DRAINAGE IMPROVEMENTS

The two roads were suffering from significant surface deterioration, a situation that had worsened following the heavy rainfall recorded last spring. They are also regularly used by residents of Morilla and Monesma and support substantial agricultural activity.

The project includes the reconstruction and complete resurfacing of the roads, as well as various interventions on the drainage systems. One of the main objectives is to improve water runoff to protect the new pavement and reduce damage caused by future episodes of intense rainfall.

Huesca Provincial Council highlights that the renovation will improve safety and driving comfort on both access routes. The investment is part of the institution’s efforts to modernize its road network and improve transport links in rural areas of Huesca, particularly in small settlements where these roads are essential for daily travel and economic activity.
