The replacement of the former Paseo del Prado was mainly prompted by the deterioration of some of its infrastructure, particularly the pavement and certain pipes, whose condition revealed significant deficiencies. The project has addressed these problems and created a more accessible space adapted to current needs, while also adding benches and various items of street furniture to facilitate rest and enjoyment of the surroundings.

In this regard, Javier Viudas, councillor for Public Works and Urban Planning at San Esteban de Litera Town Council, says that "we want the new walkway to be a place to enjoy, rest and meet, highlighting our tamarisks, which are monumental trees of Aragon, and bringing Parque Municipal del Prado even closer to our residents".
EXPANSION AND NEW FEATURES
One of the project’s main new features has been the expansion of Paseo del Prado following the Town Council’s acquisition of an adjoining plot. This addition has provided a new area mainly intended for gardens and rest, equipped with benches and other items of street furniture, complementing the main walkway.
The new Paseo del Prado retains the monumental tamarisks found in this space as one of its main attractions. They are a distinctive element of San Esteban de Litera’s natural heritage. The project also includes new plantings to strengthen the vegetation and improve the landscape integration of the site as a whole.
Another completed measure has been the restoration and installation of an interpretive table that was previously located at Paseo del Prado years ago. The project will be completed in the coming weeks with the installation of two information panels explaining what the two previous walkways were like.
