The measure will allow passengers to travel without changing buses and use a single ticket. The Directorate-General for Transport is thus taking another step toward improving the concession map, which came into operation on April 20, with the aim of adapting routes to residents’ mobility needs.
MORE THAN 40 TOWNS TO BENEFIT
Until now, passengers departing from Barbastro and using the services covered by Lot 3 had to travel to Huesca to change buses and continue their journey to Zaragoza on the routes covered by Lot 1.
The solution adopted by the Transport Department involves linking both services by overlapping departures from the two lots. Passengers will therefore be able to complete the journey from their town to Zaragoza without changing vehicles, simplifying the trip and improving comfort.
The measure will benefit more than 40 towns along the route. They include Tamarite de Litera, Binéfar, Valcarca, Binaced, Monzón, Castejón del Puente, Barbastro, El Pueyo, Peraltilla, Ponzano, Lascellas, Velillas, Liesa, Siétamo, Quicena and Tierz, among others.
12 DAILY BUSES FROM MONDAY TO FRIDAY
The new connection restores direct services to Zaragoza and will offer 12 daily departures from Monday to Friday, six in each direction. The journeys will include intermediate stops in Huesca and other towns along the route.
There will be six departures on Saturdays, three in each direction. On Sundays and public holidays, two services will run to Zaragoza and four from the regional capital to Barbastro, Monzón and Binéfar, also with intermediate stops.
The Directorate-General for Transport will continue working to improve the concession map, respond to passenger proposals and move toward public transport that is better connected, more accessible and adapted to the needs of the region.
