Future workers will receive a qualification that does not currently exist in Spain. Manufacturing LFP cells requires specific knowledge and skills in processes such as electrode manufacturing, assembly and cell formation, which can only be acquired at fully operational industrial facilities.
The program is part of the phased hiring and training plan launched by the company on July 9, 2025, with the creation of the joint venture between Stellantis and CATL. The first two phases have already been rolled out, and the following phases will advance progressively as the project develops, with the plant expected to have a workforce of nearly 4,000 people when it reaches full production.

“Our main challenge is not only to attract talent, but also to develop capabilities that barely exist in Europe today. This first group will be the starting point for a training and knowledge transfer process that will accompany the different development phases of the gigafactory. The people taking part in this first edition will have a unique international learning and immersion experience,” said Paula Marín, CSE’s Human Resources director.
A €4.1 BILLION INVESTMENT IN FIGUERUELAS
The Figueruelas gigafactory will receive a planned investment of €4.1 billion and have a capacity of up to 50 GWh. The project will help strengthen Europe’s electric vehicle battery value chain and develop a competitive industrial ecosystem in Aragón.
