Zaragoza's iconic Correos lion mailboxes return to Paseo Independencia

The removal of the mailboxes on September 17 left a visible gap beneath the arcades of one of the Aragonese capital's main shopping avenues. A temporary metal structure was installed in their place, keeping the slot for postal items available so the service could continue during the work.
The lions' return coincides with a particularly significant year for the postal building, which will celebrate the centenary of its inauguration in 2026. The restoration has brought back two highly recognizable features of the facade that are much loved by residents who pass through this area of the Aragonese capital every day.
