The work will focus on areas of the park where this type of vegetation is currently absent. The project includes earthmoving and ground preparation, followed by sowing. The aim is to transform these surfaces into flowering meadows, although the tender documents do not specify the exact location of the areas where work will be carried out within the site.
The contract sets the completion deadline as December 31, 2026. The project is still at the tendering stage, so the start of the work will depend on the contract being awarded and carried out within the planned timeframe.
FLOWERING MEADOWS TO USE LESS WATER AND SUPPORT BIODIVERSITY
The initiative is not aimed solely at improving the appearance of the green areas at the Water Park. According to municipal documents, flowering meadows help capture carbon through photosynthesis and store it in the soil through their roots and underground biological activity. Their introduction is therefore intended as a measure to move toward a more sustainable green infrastructure model.
Another objective is to reduce maintenance needs compared with traditional grass surfaces. These types of meadows may require less watering and less frequent mowing, helping to reduce the use of machinery and conservation work.
