Zaragoza to Draw 283 Affordable Rental Homes: How to Apply, Prices and Locations

Zaragoza City Council will launch the process this Friday, November 6, to draw 283 new affordable rental homes in the Zaragoza districts of Las Fuentes, San José and Valdefierro. They are the final phase of the municipal plan for 384 homes built with Next Generation European funds. Mayor Natalia Chueca also confirmed that there will be two draws: one for 151 homes in San José and Las Fuentes, and another for 132 in Valdefierro.

The homes are located on Paseo de Vicente Cazcarra, in the Las Fuentes district, where 112 apartments will be built, and at 214-216 Calle Miguel Servet, in San José, with a further 39 homes. In Valdefierro, the 132 apartments will be distributed among five buildings located at 4 Calle Urano (15 homes), 2-4 Calle Venus (23), 2 Calle Aries (35), 2 Calle Piscis (43), and 8-10 Calle Centauro (16 homes). The call for applications therefore covers seven newly built buildings.

The developments include different layouts and floor areas, with homes ranging from one to four bedrooms, as well as parking spaces and storage rooms depending on the property. They also include apartments adapted for people with reduced mobility and units intended for large families. The buildings have been designed according to energy-efficiency criteria to reduce consumption and utility costs.

HOW TO APPLY FOR THESE AFFORDABLE RENTAL HOMES AND HOW MUCH THEY COST

Prices will depend on the location and floor area of each home. In San José and Las Fuentes, the 151 apartments will have an average monthly rent of 571 euros, with rents ranging from 345 to 835 euros. In Valdefierro, the 132 homes will have an average monthly rent of 556 euros, with prices ranging from 328 to 926 euros. The amounts include the storage room and parking space in properties that have them, but not community fees.

From this Friday, November 6, interested applicants will be able to check the conditions, prices and features of the properties at www.alquilerasequiblezaragoza.com or by calling 976 23 16 66. The official registration form will be made available in mid-November and must be completed exclusively online. Once the application period has closed and the applications have been reviewed, the dates of the two draws will be announced. They will be held before a notary.

To qualify for one of these homes, applicants will need to meet the minimum and maximum income limits established for protected housing, be registered as residents in Aragon and not own another home. In addition, the rent may not exceed 30% of the household's net income, and the number of occupants must correspond to the available bedrooms. Once the draws have taken place and the contracts have been signed, residents will be able to move in by the end of 2026 or, at the latest, the beginning of 2027.
