The meeting, held remotely, marked the first contact between the two administrations since Zaragoza was designated as the future agency’s headquarters. It allowed them to begin the institutional coordination needed to organize the entity’s arrival and establish a joint roadmap for its implementation.
ZARAGOZA READY TO HOST THE AGENCY “IMMEDIATELY”
During the session, the regional government’s director general of Public Health, Aitziber Lanza, reiterated that “Aragon is ready to host” the headquarters of the State Public Health Agency “immediately.” She stressed that it will be located in a space at Expo Empresarial measuring nearly 900 square meters, which “is already equipped.”
Lanza reported that the space is already “equipped with furniture, electricity supply, an air-conditioning system and cleaning services,” meaning it could accommodate the new institution’s operations from the outset. It is a temporary headquarters prepared to allow the agency to begin operating while its permanent location is being prepared.
The plan is for the two administrations to sign an institutional agreement in the coming months and begin an initial phase of the move to the temporary headquarters at Expo Empresarial. Part of the agency’s staff will begin working there while renovation work is carried out at the Aragon Pavilion, which will be the permanent headquarters of the State Public Health Agency.
