ST. PAPHNUTIUS OF EGYPT
St. Paphnutius of Egypt was a Christian bishop who lived during the fourth century. According to tradition, he suffered persecution for his faith and was subjected to various punishments, although he maintained his religious convictions despite threats and suffering.
His figure is associated with the defense of Christian doctrine during a period of major conflicts both within and outside the Church. Paphnutius stood out for his fidelity to Christian teachings and his dedication to the community of believers.
Tradition holds that St. Paphnutius died as a martyr, becoming a symbol of strength and resistance in the face of religious persecution. His feast is celebrated on September 11, when the faithful remember his life and testimony of faith.
