The State Meteorological Agency has kept the alerts active between 1:00 p.m. and 8:59 p.m., coinciding with the hottest hours. Seven areas will be under an orange alert, considered a significant danger, while the remaining two will stay at yellow level.
WHERE HEAT WARNINGS ARE IN EFFECT IN ARAGON THIS FRIDAY
Orange alerts will affect the Pyrenees in Huesca province, with highs of 38°C; central Huesca, with 39°C; and southern Huesca, where temperatures could reach 40°C. In Zaragoza province, the Cinco Villas and Zaragoza Iberian Range areas will be under orange alert, with 39°C, as will the Ebro River Valley, with temperatures of up to 40°C.
Orange-level alerts will also reach Lower Aragon in Teruel province, where AEMET forecasts highs of 39°C. Meanwhile, Albarracín and Jiloca and Gúdar and Maestrazgo will remain under yellow alerts for temperatures of up to 38°C. As a result, all of Aragon will be under some type of heat alert this Friday.
ZARAGOZA WILL REACH 41°C; HUESCA 39°C AND TERUEL 38°C
Among Aragon’s provincial capitals, Zaragoza will bear the brunt, with a high of 41°C and a low of 21°C. In Huesca, thermometers will reach 39°C, while Teruel will hit 38°C. Nights will also be warm, especially in Zaragoza, where temperatures will barely fall.
Sunshine will prevail for much of the day in Zaragoza and Huesca, with clear or mostly clear skies. Some high clouds may appear in Teruel, but no rainfall is expected there either. Winds will be light to moderate and will do little to reduce the feeling of heat.
WHAT THE WEATHER WILL BE LIKE IN ARAGON THIS WEEKEND
Intense heat will continue on Saturday, and the entire region will remain under alerts. Orange warnings will affect the Pyrenees in Huesca province, southern Huesca and the Ebro River Valley, while the rest of the areas will be under yellow alerts. Zaragoza will again reach 41°C, while Huesca and Teruel will record highs of 38°C.
Temperatures will fall in the provincial capitals on Sunday, but Aragon still will not be able to say goodbye to the heat. Zaragoza is expected to reach 37°C, and Huesca and Teruel 34°C. In addition, seven areas will remain under warnings: orange alerts will be in effect in southern Huesca and the Ebro River Valley, with temperatures of up to 39°C, and yellow alerts in the Pyrenees, central Huesca, Lower Aragon, Cinco Villas and the Zaragoza Iberian Range.
