In Aragon, 480,000 journeys are expected during the operation, which will begin at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, October 30, and end at midnight on Monday, November 2. The operation will involve Civil Guard officers, staff from traffic management centers, helicopter patrols and road maintenance crews.
PEAK TRAFFIC TIMES
The heaviest concentrations of vehicles are expected on Friday from 4:00 to 9:00 p.m., on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and on Monday from 3:30 to 9:00 p.m. To facilitate traffic flow, roadworks affecting the carriageway and its surrounding area will be suspended from 1:00 p.m. on Friday until midnight on Monday.
WHERE TRAFFIC JAMS MAY OCCUR
Traffic authorities have identified several trouble spots in Huesca province: the N-330 between Lanave and Hostal de Ipiés, sections of the N-330 and A-23 near Sabiñánigo, and access to Ordesa National Park via the A-135. In Zaragoza, they recommend using the AP-68 as an alternative to the A-68 toward La Rioja and the Z-40 South when the Northern Ring Road is congested.
The DGT warns that rain, fog and wind may make driving more difficult at this time of year. It therefore advises checking tires, lights, brakes and windshield wipers, reducing speed and increasing the safety distance when weather conditions worsen. Road conditions can be checked on the DGT website and by calling 011.
