The race tightens: Real Zaragoza after the 10th matchday of Primera RFEF

Despite securing a heroic and courageous draw in the closing stages against Villarreal B, Real Zaragoza avoided a worse outcome thanks to a late goal from defensive leader Diego González. The team has lost some of its advantage over its main Primera RFEF pursuers. The point against the Yellow Submarine's reserve side, combined with the rest of the results from the 10th matchday, allows Ibai Gómez's team to remain top of the standings, but with less room for error.

With 21 points, Real Zaragoza and Villarreal B continue to lead Group 2 of Primera RFEF, with the groguet reserve side ahead on goal difference. The two teams shared the points on the latest matchday, while their four closest pursuers all won their respective matches, thereby reducing the gap in the standings.

Real Jaén and Real Murcia defeated Algeciras (3-2) and Antequera (0-1), respectively, and have moved up to 19 points, placing them less than one match behind the leaders. In addition, fifth-placed Ibiza also secured a convincing victory over Europa (3-0) to reach 17 points, while Hércules, sixth in the table and the team marking the playoff places, did the same against Rayo Majadahonda (2-0) to move onto 16 points.

Below them, a group of four teams on 15 points has emerged. Alcorcón, who drew with Atlético Madrileño (1-1), Cartagena, who suffered their second consecutive defeat against Real Madrid Castilla (2-0), who have the same number of points, and Huesca, who closed the matchday with a win over Nastic de Tarragona (2-0), are the teams pursuing the privileged positions in Primera RFEF.

THE BOTTOM HALF

Nastic de Tarragona, with 14 points, Algeciras, with 13, Sant Andreu, who defeated Teruel (2-0), with 12, and Atlético Madrileño and Antequera, with 11, are the teams currently above the relegation places, which have opened up a small three-point gap.

Águilas, with eight points, are the highest-placed team in the relegation zone. They are joined on seven points by Rayo Majadahonda, Juventud Torremolinos and Europa, while Teruel, with just six points, sit bottom of the standings.
