The three remaining promotion playoff places are occupied by Real Jaén, Real Murcia and U.D. Ibiza, with the first two teams on 19 points and the Ibiza side on 17. All three secured victories this matchday and cut the gap to Real Zaragoza, tightening the top end of the table, where only five points separate first from fifth place.
However, the group is even more tightly contested, as Real Madrid Castilla, in 10th place, are just six points behind the Zaragoza side. Ibai Gómez's team must therefore consistently return to winning ways and pick up three points to create some distance, because the competition for the top of the standings is intensifying as the rounds go by.
Real Zaragoza's next game is the Aragonese derby against Huesca at Ibercaja Estadio on November 7 at 9 p.m. It will be a key match for the Blanquillos as they seek to return to the top on their own and pull away from their rivals in the table.
