Ibai Says Lucas Terrer Is “Unlikely” to Feature in Real Zaragoza–Huesca Clash

Everything points to Lucas Terrer not recovering in time to play in next Saturday’s match between Real Zaragoza and S.D. Huesca. The midfielder was a last-minute absence against Villarreal B, a game that ended 2-2, and has suffered a minor muscle tear, according to coach Ibai Gómez. The issue was announced on Saturday and, in all likelihood, he will not have recovered within a week.

It was the SAD itself that announced the issue in a brief statement on its official channels. It was not a medical report, as none was issued, but rather a note added to Real Zaragoza’s squad announcement.

“Lucas Terrer is not included in the squad due to a minor muscle injury in his quadriceps. The player’s progress will determine his availability to gradually rejoin the group,” the statement said about the Real Zaragoza midfielder.

IBAI COMMENTS ON THE INJURY

Real Zaragoza coach Ibai Gómez was asked about the matter after the draw against Villarreal B. “He has a small muscle tear. We thought he was going to be available, but he felt something, they checked him and told us it was minor. I don’t know how long he will be out. I hope it will be very little time, but we will have to assess how much we want to risk. It is unlikely that he will be ready in a week,” he said.

As a result, it will be difficult for the Real Zaragoza player to make the aforementioned match. It is just one week away, on Saturday, November 7 at 9:00 p.m., leaving him that amount of time to recover. From Saturday to Saturday, it certainly seems difficult.

TOP SPOT AT STAKE

Real Zaragoza could once again be playing for top spot. After drawing 2-2 with Villarreal B, the situation remains, in this regard, the same as it was a week ago. The Yellow Submarine’s reserve side leads the table on goal difference, but has the same 21 points as the blue-and-white team.

In this situation, every week brings a new battle. Next week features the Aragonese derby, while Villarreal’s reserve side will play at home against Juventud de Torremolinos. We will have to wait and see…
