The political parties that won seats in the Cortes of Aragón reported combined spending of €2,261,328.71. The technical review rejected just €9,243.43 due to a lack of documentation or administrative irregularities. As a result, the institution approved a total of €2,252,085.28, allowing the parties to cover 78% of their expenditure through public subsidies.

PP AND PSOE LEAD THE SUBSIDY ALLOCATION

The People’s Party spent the most, €807,651.32, and will receive €640,129.72 in regional subsidies. The PSOE followed with €612,653.81 in approved expenses and €505,566.18 in aid. Vox, meanwhile, reported electoral spending of €362,219.45 in the regional election.

Chunta Aragonesista will receive €179,388.55 in subsidies following a review of its accounts. The Existe Coalition will obtain a final subsidy of €43,169.40, while Izquierda Unida-Sumar will receive €27,682.94.

FINANCIAL ADJUSTMENTS AND PENALTIES FOR LATE PAYMENTS

The Existe Coalition must return €40,041.94 of the advance it received because its valid expenses did not reach that amount. The Audit Office of Aragón has also proposed reducing Existe’s subsidy by €5,435.42 and Vox’s by €1,052.76. Both penalties stem from payments to suppliers made after the legal 90-day deadline set following the election.

The auditing body has requested that invoices be recorded according to the date on which the service is contracted, rather than when it is paid. The institution has also suggested updating regional regulations to define more clearly which types of expenditure qualify for subsidies.
