Azcón sees PP-Vox agreement for Senate as “sensible”

Aragon President Jorge Azcón has opened the door to a possible agreement between the PP and Vox for the Senate ahead of the November 29 general election. Azcón considers it “sensible” to explore agreements in response to electoral alliances promoted by the PSOE with other parties.

The president of Aragon defended the Popular Party’s desire to remain “the major center-right party” and, he said, represent a broad majority of Spaniards.

The leader of the Aragonese government accused the PSOE of thinking in terms of “electoral calculations” and of “joining forces with its extremes.” In his view, if the Socialists opt for electoral alliances, other parties may also seek similar formulas. “If the Socialist Party changes the rules of the game and is willing to join other political forces, I believe it is sensible for there to be an agreement so that those political majorities are not distorted,” Azcón said.
