Kristine Vitola on Veronika Vorácková's Casademont Zaragoza exit: "We're not focused on that"

As with Mariona Ortiz, Casademont Zaragoza does not want Veronika Vorácková's upcoming departure to distract from its sporting goals. Kristine Vitola, the voice of the locker room, played down the issue just hours before the vital EuroLeague clash against Kibirkstis Vilnius and insisted that the team is focused on the present, with the Czech player still integrated into the team's dynamics.
Kristine Vitola on Veronika Vorácková's Casademont Zaragoza exit: "We're not focused on that"

"We're not focused on that. She's here now, she's with us and she's helping us. That's what we're focused on, being with her. Whatever happens later in January, we'll see in January," the Latvian explained, seeking to set aside any distractions and keep the focus on the competition. The Czech wing's departure is scheduled for the end of the year, when she will join Project B alongside Mariona Ortiz.

More precisely, the arrival of the new year will bring a period of change to the team's roster. Mariona and Vorackova's departures will be followed by the arrival of Astou Ndour, as well as the necessary signings of two players tasked with replacing the Catalan point guard and the Czech wing. Vitola, for her part, has a contract that includes a release clause exercisable from that same month, adding uncertainty over the team's future composition.

THE VITAL EUROLEAGUE CLASH

On the sporting front, Casademont faces Kibirkstis in an important game between two teams that remain unbeaten in the EuroLeague. "We're in a good place and focused. We're aware that this is a game between two teams that, for now, haven't lost. So we just have to keep doing what we do, step onto the court, play all 40 minutes and fight," Vitola said.

To overcome the Lithuanian side, the Latvian considers it essential to take care of the details and follow the coaching staff's instructions: "Simply play with intensity, grab rebounds and focus on what the coach wants us to do. Play our game, which has worked for us so far. We have to keep going like this and really focus on getting the small details right."
