Casademont has announced Vorácková’s departure in the same format and using the same wording as it did to officially confirm Mariona Ortiz’s exit: "Veronika Vorácková has informed the club of her decision to terminate her contract early in order to join a new global basketball project. In response to her request, both parties have agreed to terminate it by mutual consent. The player will remain part of Casademont Zaragoza until December 30, 2026, and will continue to be part of the team and compete under the coaching staff’s orders until that date."
The explanation for the Czech player’s departure was accompanied by words of thanks from the red-and-white club: "Basket Zaragoza thanks Veronika Vorácková for her work, professionalism and contribution throughout all these years at the club, as well as for her commitment until December 30, and wishes her the very best of luck in the professional challenges she will begin after that date."
A NEW BLOW FOR CASADEMONT
Following the departure of Casademont’s leading figure, Mariona Ortiz, the red-and-white club will also have to deal with the exit of a key player in Carlos Cantero’s system. In addition, the Czech occupies a European player spot, and it will be difficult to find a player of a similar profile and level who is not from outside the European Union.
After joining the red-and-white side in the summer of 2025, Vorácková gradually adapted to the Aragonese team and, after improving steadily, has become one of the most frequently used and influential players in the Casademont squad. Her ability to contribute both defensively and offensively, together with her well-rounded skills, makes the Czech a guarantee on the court.
Casademont is therefore continuing to work to find two players who can join the red-and-white setup from the end of the year onward, so that Carlos Cantero’s team is affected as little as possible by two painful departures. It is a difficult and demanding task that Casademont is obliged to undertake following the moves of Mariona Ortiz and Veronika Vorácková to the emerging Project B competition.
