The event was scheduled for this Friday, October 30, at 7 p.m. at the Patio de la Infanta, as part of the Martes de libros series, with free admission available by prior registration. Cortés was due to present the novel in conversation with journalist Ana Usieto.

It was the filmmaker and writer himself who announced the postponement through his social media accounts. “These are difficult days,” Cortés said, apologizing for the inconvenience to those who had planned to attend and adding that he would announce the new date as soon as possible.

A NEW DATE HAS YET TO BE CONFIRMED

For now, no date has been announced for the presentation. The event was part of Fundación Ibercaja’s literary program and marked Cortés’s return to Zaragoza to present his new work.

"Hija del cielo" takes readers to Gabaón, a place by the sea that is simultaneously a village, school, orphanage and monastery. There, a girl confined to a room without windows lies at the center of a story blending mystery, humor, tenderness and disturbing elements.

The book is Rodrigo Cortés’s third novel. He is best known for his film career as the director of movies such as "Buried," "Red Lights" and "Love Gets a Room." In recent years, he has combined filmmaking with literature and participation in various cultural projects.
