The event will return with a program designed for audiences of all ages and Japanese culture at its core, although its offering will go far beyond manga. Anime, fantasy, comics, graphic novels, illustration, video games, board games, workshops, music and role-playing activities will also have a place throughout the three-day event.
ACTIVITIES FOR ALL AGES
One figure that highlights the festival’s growth is the 111 stands that will occupy the Multi-Purpose Hall this year. Artists from Aragon and other parts of Spain will gather there, along with publishers, figure and merchandise stores, and other projects linked to pop and Asian culture.
The program will include cosplay and “farming aura” contests, video game tournaments, role-playing and board games, workshops for different age groups, drawing and sculpture demonstrations, martial arts, lightsabers, Asian and K-pop dance, concerts and entertainment activities. There will also be photo ops and meetings with characters, live podcasts, exhibitions and even live anime tattooing.
KENNY RUIZ TO RECEIVE THE ULTIMATE MANGA AWARD
One of the major figures at this edition will be Kenny Ruiz, one of Spain’s comic artists with the longest international careers. He has worked mainly in the Franco-Belgian market and was also one of the first Spanish artists to publish in Japan. His works include El cazador de rayos, Barcelona, Telémaco and Team Phoenix.
Ruiz will receive the Ultimate Manga Award during the festival in recognition of his entire career and will also be the subject of the event’s main exhibition.
He will be joined by Javi Olivares, creator of the YouTube channel La botella de Kandor, which specializes in superheroes and pop culture. Since 2003, he has shared information about films, toys, characters and comics through blogs, books, radio and digital content.
THE VOICES OF LUFFY AND ZORO IN ZARAGOZA
Another major attraction will be the presence of Sergio Liébana and Jon Samaniego, voice actors who have worked on the One Piece series, voicing the actors who play Luffy and Zoro.
Liébana has also worked on productions such as Alice in Borderland and Fallout, while Samaniego has voiced characters including Goh in Pokémon Journeys and Colin Bridgerton in Bridgerton. Both will take part in meetings and activities with attendees.
OPENING HOURS AND TICKETS
Ultimate Manga will be open on Friday from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., and on Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Tickets can be purchased through the official website or at the box office. Each time slot will cost 6 euros, while there will also be a full-weekend ticket and a family ticket for two adults and two children costing 15 euros, as well as an all-day Saturday ticket for 8 euros.
