This event, designed to transform teenagers' view of life, will be held at the Zaragoza venue next Tuesday, November 17, featuring director, producer and screenwriter Paco Arango, science communicator Sonia Ruiz and singer Miriam Fernández. The three figures will share their personal experiences and give young people the opportunity to learn firsthand about the importance of values in growing and moving forward throughout life.
With the aim of ensuring that their first-hand accounts inspire and educate young people, encourage them to reflect on the things that truly matter and motivate them to make a positive contribution to society, the LQDVI Foundation is bringing three protagonists to the stage who have overcome difficulties or achieved their goals thanks to their optimism, solidarity, self-esteem, courage, personal resilience, love, effort, integrity, perseverance and tolerance.
"What Really Matters" will be opened at 10:00 a.m. by Mayor Natalia Chueca. A breakfast will be held before the event, during which members of the LQDVI Foundation's Youth Council will present social challenges with the aim of fostering dialogue, listening and the generation of ideas that can provide solutions to these problems.
THE THREE PROTAGONISTS
Paco Arango, a film director, screenwriter and producer, will be the first to speak. His desire to get involved in a charitable project led him to begin working as a volunteer at Niño Jesús Children's Hospital in Madrid. This experience marked a turning point in his life, prompting him to create the Aladina Foundation, an organization dedicated to improving the lives of children and teenagers with cancer.
Next, it will be Sonia Ruiz's turn. She created the podcast Quédate conmigo after surviving a suicide attempt. Through her microphone, she shares a message of hope with those going through difficult times, addressing mental health and breaking the silence surrounding emotional suffering while reminding young people that asking for help is always the first step toward starting over.
The event will conclude with Miriam Fernández, a young woman from Madrid who, despite being diagnosed with cerebral palsy at birth and facing numerous challenges, including bullying and the loss of loved ones, discovered that happiness is a daily decision. Through her effort, love and perseverance, she has achieved her dream of becoming a singer and actress.
