Among them, the creation of Espacio Arbolé in San Mateo de Gállego stands out, along with the premiere of two new productions by the company, one this year: "The Legend of the Enchanted Mountain," starring Pelegrín, and the other in 2027, dedicated to Goya's most fantastical side, with a text by Fernando Lalana and directed by Iñaqui Juárez.
The new Espacio Arbolé in San Mateo is undoubtedly the season's biggest new development. It is a new project aimed at turning the town's Espacio Cultural Eusebio Alegre into a permanent venue for high-quality performances for children and families. The venue will offer one family performance each month throughout the year, featuring works by leading companies.
The company also deserves recognition for the numerous performances it stages across Spain and its international tours, particularly in Latin America, where puppet theater has a deep-rooted tradition. In March this year, it traveled to Cuba, and from November 14 to December 6 it will tour Mexico.
TEATRO ARBOLÉ PROGRAM
Ibero-American Festival
This Thursday marks the start of the 13th Ibero-American Theater Festival for Children, held from September 11 to 13. The festival aims to showcase theater produced in Ibero-America for children and families, including both its traditions and its avant-garde work, while strengthening ties between Zaragoza, Arbolé and its sister continent. Three companies will perform: Kunu’u Títeres (Paraguay), Los Pintores (Cuba) and Compañía Ana Santa Cruz (Peru), presenting six performances.

Also in keeping with tradition—and after 30 years of performing at the Pilar Festival—Arbolé will bring its Puppet Tent to Moret Street, next to Plaza de los Sitios, from October 9 to 18, with several shows each day. A total of 50 performances will be held, featuring a broad repertoire: 16 shows by five puppeteers who will recreate Pelegrín's adventures and perform famous Arbolé productions based on classic tales.

During the 2026 Pilar Festival, Sala Arbolé at Parque del Agua will also offer a varied program for young and adult audiences, ranging from Javier Aranda's puppet show "Saeta," an intimate and virtuosic tribute to theater in its various forms, to the irreverent and provocative humor of Ignatius Farray, who combines the absurd with philosophical reflection. Yolanda Blanco's company will also perform "Blanco y en botella," a comedy with live music that engages with the audience.
Theater school
The Theater School, which brings Arbolé so much satisfaction, will begin a new term in October, with registration open until September 30. The school introduces children to dramatic play and has provided training for 17 years, welcoming around 100 students aged 6 to 18 each year.
