Published last April, the book begins with the downfall of José Luis Ábalos in 2021. From there, Garat reconstructs what she describes as a web of loyalties, ambitions, betrayals and internal struggles surrounding the prime minister, while examining the role played by politicians, businesspeople, intermediaries and other figures linked to that circle.
The book’s subtitle is "How the Largest Corruption Scandal in the History of Democracy in Spain Was Organized," a thesis that Garat develops throughout the book.

Born in Ferrol in 1982, Ketty Garat has spent much of her career covering national political affairs, particularly those related to Moncloa and Ferraz. She has worked for outlets including Servimedia, COPE, Libertad Digital/esRadio and The Objective, and regularly appears on radio and television programs.
Her work was recognized this year with the APM Award for Best Journalist of 2025, presented by the Madrid Press Association. In 2026, she also received the Encarna Sánchez Communication Award from the Spanish Radio Academy.
