Among the main cultural highlights are the fourth edition of Ultimate Manga and the Ibero-American Arbolé Theatre Festival. Visitors can also see the "Cegados" exhibition at Montemuzo Palace, discover Argentine tango at the Central Market or enjoy storytelling sessions at the Kiosko de las Letras in Parque Grande.
ULTIMATE MANGA AT THE MULTI-PURPOSE HALL
Ultimate Manga will once again fill Zaragoza with manga, anime, video games, cosplay and Asian culture from Friday through Sunday, with its largest edition to date. The festival’s fourth edition will bring together 111 stands at the Multi-Purpose Hall and feature guests including comic artist Kenny Ruiz, content creator Javi Olivares and voice actors Sergio Liébana and Jon Samaniego, who have worked on One Piece.
The event will return with a programme designed for audiences of all ages and Japanese culture at its core, although its offerings will go far beyond manga. Anime, fantasy, comics, graphic novels, illustration, video games, board games, workshops, music and role-playing activities will also have a place during the three-day event.
IBERO-AMERICAN ARBOLÉ THEATRE FESTIVAL
The 13th Ibero-American Theatre Festival for Children will bring three puppet shows to the entrance of the Teatro Arbolé in Parque del Agua. Designed for families, the performances will take place outdoors and admission will be free until capacity is reached throughout the weekend.
The event begins this Friday, September 11, at 6:00 p.m. with "El tesoro más grande del mundo" by Kunu’u Títeres. This Saturday, September 12, it will be the turn of "Los pintores", with two performances at noon and 6:00 p.m. The programme will conclude this Sunday, September 13, with Mishi Mushi y los ratones, which will be performed at noon and 5:00 p.m.
"CEGADOS" EXHIBITION AT MONTEMUZO PALACE
Art is difficult to define, but for Valencian artist Xavi Colomer it involves portraying what remains hidden. That is the perspective he presents in "Cegados", the exhibition at Montemuzo Palace featuring 19 large-format paintings through which the artist invites visitors to pause before hidden and concealed realities.
"Cegados" moves away from the pleasant images that dominate contemporary visual culture. In contrast with that aesthetic, Colomer presents deformed bodies, disproportionate heads and empty gazes intended to unsettle viewers, raise questions and demand more attentive observation. Admission to Montemuzo Palace will be free throughout the weekend.
ARGENTINE TANGO AT THE CENTRAL MARKET
Mate, barbecues and, of course, tango are part of an Argentine identity that has found followers far beyond the borders of the Latin American country, including more than 10,000 kilometres away in Zaragoza. This September, tango is taking over the Central Market, which will become an improvised dance floor for four Saturdays.
For two hours this Saturday, the Central Market will change its usual pace to welcome tango dancers and enthusiasts, both those who already know the steps and those who simply want to discover this Río de la Plata tradition. The experience will go beyond dancing: the Central Market’s location will allow visitors to round off the afternoon with food from its own stalls and nearby establishments.
STORYTELLING AT THE KIOSKO DE LAS LETRAS IN PARQUE GRANDE
The Kiosko de las Letras resumed its programme last weekend after the summer break, keeping reading at its centre while opening up to other artistic events held in Parque José Antonio Labordeta. This Saturday, it will continue with two family activities.
At 11:00 a.m. this Saturday, Universo Marevoli will offer a free, lively reading of the story "Tu pieza es importante" by Isabel Gil Pascual at the BiblioTipi. The family programme will continue this Sunday from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. with a new event, Las Tribus del Parque, aimed at children and families.
THE CARROZA DEL REAL IN UTEBO AND MONZÓN
The towns of Utebo and Monzón will welcome the Carroza del Real this weekend. After visiting Teruel on September 5, performances by the Carroza del Real will continue this Saturday and Sunday as part of the regional government’s "Aragón, tierra de cultura" programme.
Santa Ana Square in Utebo will host the next recital this Saturday at 8:00 p.m. The performers will be Carlos Alfonso Ferri (piano), María Ruiz (soprano), Yeraldín León (mezzo-soprano), Pablo Puértolas (tenor) and Alonso Gabarrús (baritone), who will perform works by Rachmaninoff, Puccini, Camille Saint-Saëns, Bellini, Donizetti, Mozart, Bizet, Jacques Offenbach, Pablo Sorozábal, Gerónimo Giménez and Manuel Nieto.

TARAZONA MUSIC BAND GATHERING
This weekend, Tarazona will host the first Ciudad de Tarazona Music Band Gathering, a new cultural event bringing together three ensembles from Tarragona, Valencia and Toledo.
The programme will begin on Saturday the 12th at 8:00 p.m. at the Bellas Artes Theatre, with performances by the participating bands. Admission is free, and invitations can be collected from the Culture Office. On Sunday, from 11:00 a.m., the three bands will lead separate parades that will all end at the old bullring.
