The Former Zaragoza Factory Becoming a Huge Free-Entry Gallery of Art, Jewelry and Furniture This Weekend

A former factory in central Zaragoza will become a 300-square-meter art gallery this weekend. The 4th Saraqusta Art Fair brings together 23 artists from or based in Aragón on November 7 and 8, with painting, sculpture, illustration, photography, jewelry, furniture design and collage, and free admission.

23 ARTISTS AND A WIDE RANGE OF DISCIPLINES

One of the fair’s defining features is precisely its mix of styles and disciplines. All the participants are connected to Aragón and will present work ranging from painting and sculpture to photography, design, jewelry and collage. The aim is to offer a broad overview of emerging artistic creation in the region.

There will also be several parallel activities throughout the weekend. On Saturday at 5:00 p.m., there will be a children’s art and face-painting session, while on Sunday there will be an experimental collage workshop at 11:30 a.m. and another on embroidered Polaroids at 5:30 p.m. The awards ceremony will take place that same Sunday at 7:30 p.m.

THE PUBLIC ALSO HAS A SAY

Visitors will be able to vote for their favorite artist and choose one of the fair’s two awards. The other will be presented by a jury. Participants will also have the opportunity to sell their work, receive commissions and explain their work directly to the public during the two-day event.

The jury’s winner will later be able to exhibit for a month at the Espacio Recoveco of San Jorge University, while the public’s choice will display one of their works at the IAACC Pablo Serrano. Both will also receive a statuette made using 3D printing.

The Saraqusta Art Fair will open on Saturday, November 7, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. On Sunday, November 8, it can be visited from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and from 5:00 p.m. until approximately 8:00 or 8:30 p.m., once the awards ceremony has ended.
