The origins of the book date back to 2014, when Ordás proposed that Bunbury hold a series of conversations focused on that period. The project was completed, but the singer ultimately decided not to publish it. More than ten years later, the two chose to revive the idea, though not the previous material: they started again from scratch and revisited those songs and events from the perspective provided by the passage of time.
The project was resumed in 2025, precisely at a particularly active moment for Bunbury. The release of Cuentas Pendientes, the recording of De un siglo anterior, the preparation of the poetry collection Los suaves deslices de la lluvia and the return of El Huracán Ambulante meant that his conversations with Ordás progressed little by little. From October that year, the two intensified their exchange of questions, answers and revisions, which would eventually take shape as the book.
MUCH MORE THAN FOUR ALBUMS
Although its starting point is the work released between 2006 and 2011, Canciones desde El Puerto is not limited to reviewing albums and concerts. The conversations also explore the Zaragoza-born artist's influences, the artists who have shaped his understanding of music, the circumstances surrounding certain recordings and the decisions that ultimately influenced his artistic evolution.
BUNBURY WILL RETURN TO ZARAGOZA IN DECEMBER
The publication will also arrive just a few months before Bunbury returns to the stages of Zaragoza. The artist will stop in his hometown on December 12 at the Pabellón Príncipe Felipe as part of the Nuevas Mutaciones Tour 2026, a tour that will take him across America and Spain with a ten-member band and see him revisit different periods of his songbook.
Anticipation for that return is already being felt. The artist himself has included Zaragoza among the concerts that have sold out, meaning Bunbury will come home to a packed Príncipe Felipe after a particularly intense 2026 filled with new music, books and life on the road.
